Take a walk down any street. Did you catch the etchings on the side of the bench? Did you notice the small poster glued on to the side of the electrical box? Did you see the spray painted mural on the wall of the restaurant? Street art is present everywhere yet many people fail to recognize the beauty and the meaning behind each and every signature or painting left behind by the artist. Whether it be through stencils, spray cans or sharp objects, they all have one role: to create a sense of unification and identity within the city. This blog is a study on street art and the way it affects the community and its members. Each work, inspired by the negative or the positive aspects of the community, creates an open environment for a discussion to create change and break down the social boundaries in the neighborhood.
